Life Time Athletic has hit the greater Sacramento area with its first location in Roseville. I’d heard of Life Time before and that it is the creme de la creme of health clubs, so I was so excited to receive an invite to check out the facility. I grabbed my blogger bud Maria and hit the road with a tote bag of goodies ready to enjoy the day at Life Time.
So the rumors were true! 🙂 Life Time is hands down the nicest facility I’ve been to. It’s very much like a campus for fitness and wellness because it has something for everyone and you can literally spend all day and night there. They’ve got all the sports (basketball, cycle, tennis – just to name a few) and state-of-the-art equipment (which is practically all new since the facility just opened months ago) so you can get your fitness on, with their staff very visible should you have a question or concern.
Fitness is just one facet of the Life Time experience. The LifeSpa is another part of the gem that you wouldn’t expect. We were pleasantly surprised at how posh the spa was. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a warm towel and spa water and given the option to wait in the lobby or in the quiet room. It was the perfect “Treat Yo’self” day.
I indulged in a massage and Maria took advantage of the HydraFacial, which is a non-invasive resurfacing procedure that Maria said she “noticed an immediate smoothness and evenness” to her skin and was the “ultimate refresher.” While I love a good facial, I was in desperate need of a massage. I carry a lot of tension in my upper back, but who knew much that was affecting my hips? With the deep tissue massage, my therapist was able to pinpoint problem areas and work them out during our session. I was also given a few tips and various stretches to try throughout the day.
So you’d think with the state-of-the-art fitness facility with machines, weights, fitness rooms, yoga studio, tennis courts, a nutritious cafe and an upscale spa, that Life Time would’ve stopped. Nope. They kept going. And I’m so glad they did because it’s one of my favorite amenities at the club…. the pool….and the cantina…that serves beer and wine!
After a long day of workouts, treatments, and steaming, it was time to relax. What a perfect end to our day off the grid!
If you’re shopping for a health club for your family, or if you’re growing tired of your current one and its offerings, Life Time should definitely be on your list. See if there is a location near you. And if you’re in the Greater Sacramento area, they’re opening another club soon! Get on the waitlist here.
