Hey guys! I don’t know about you, but it’s been a travel filled summer over here. A week or so ago I visited Houston for my boyfriend’s sister’s baby shower. We spent half of our time preparing for the celebration, and the other half lounging at the Hyatt Regency Houston Galleria, a modern hotel in a central part of the city. I’ve been to Houston before, and I am only disappointed that I didn’t stay at the hotel sooner! It is the coziest, classiest hotel with a wonderful and accommodating staff.
CJ and I arrived so exhaustedly from our party planning duties, and I’m grateful that our agent had so much patience with us. Her name was Joy and she gave us all of the information we needed so we didn’t have any questions. She even walked us to the elevator. Good thing, because with how tired we were, we could’ve missed it.
Being so centrally located, you can get to many parts of the city with ease. The property is about two years old, but the property looks brand spankin’ new. I love that they have a spa water station once you pass the front desk, and plentiful seating should you want to do a little people watching or work in the lobby.
By the time we arrived at the Hyatt, the pace of the trip had started to slow, which was good because that meant we had the opportunity of experiencing so many different amenities. We spent some time at the pool, squeezing in any sunny and non-rainy we could get (hurricane season), and lots of time hanging on the ground floor at Urban Star.
The Urban Star brand within the hotel has all you need to stay fed and happy. The Market offers more casual dining options with coffee and many grab-and-go items for the person on the move. They even have a small area with a mini pharmacy and other sundries.
Should you decide you want to stay and enjoy lunch or dinner, the Urban Star Restaurant offers a spin on traditional Texas and Southern cuisine. The 99 Track Tacos and Cilantro Lime Chicken cannot be missed. No matter the water, you want to try a cup of chicken noodle soup. It will warm your soul. The Bar had many libations that were a little bit daring and plenty delicious. My favorites were the Moscow Mule and the Jalapeno Margarita.
Enough of me describing it to you: Enjoy some photos from our stay at the Hyatt Regency Houston Galleria.
If you’re going to be heading to the Houston area, you want to make sure you stay at the Hyatt, and if you live in the area, treat yourself to a staycation here. My recipe for a great evening in? Grab a drink at the bar, go upstairs, put on your robe and watch some trash TV in your king sized bed. No, that doesn’t suck.
