Hello! I hope your week is going well. I did a post awhile back on where to find deals, so I decided to do a refresher because now is the time to take advantage of some GREAT savings. I get questions about the places I shop pretty regularly – from co-workers, friends and strangers. It’s a little difficult because I shop so many places, but I’ve narrowed it down to my top picks.
Hello! Today I’m talking weekend wear. When it comes to weekend wear, I really try to keep it casual. I haaaate dressing up. More often than not, you can find me in yoga capris and a tee shirt. Maybe even a hat! But, for those times when I have to run errands, or want to meet a friend for lunch, I kick it up a notch, but I don’t sacrifice comfort. This look was just that. Comfy chic! Dressy t-shirt, boyfriend jeans, comfy sandals and a great handbag.
Hello! Because of my loyal fans, I won the Better Homes and Gardens Ultimate Summer Bash vote off for Summer Style. Thank you so so much for your votes! There are other categories to vote for, so be sure to check out their page over the next couple of weeks. 🙂
Did you get enough of the graffiti murals in my Love Bellissima post? I didn’t think so, so here’s the view from the other side of the wall!
I love this outfit because there are a lot of different trends happening like fringe, camo, and spikes, and somehow they all go together harmoniously.
Summer is here, and it seems like every year, I struggle a bit with what to wear for an evening out. I don’t like to show too much skin, but I also don’t want to be sweating up a storm, and I’m tired of the maxi dress. What’s a girl to do? In comes the ruffled romper from Love Bellissima.
I hope you all had a great weekend and a lovely Father’s Day. I hosted my dad and my siblings for a Father’s Day lunch on the lawn. The weather was absolutely perfect and my dad was very surprised and happy with everything.
I wanted to share some recent TLG happenings other than on the actual TLG blog. One is a feature by another blogger and the other is a contributed piece written and styled by me!
This past Friday I was a featured blogger on Global Couture. It’s always an honor when another blogger features you on their site. I had the opportunity to talk about my style, beauty regimen and favorite places to shop. Head over to the GC blog and check it out the feature!
Also, my exclusive style post on Best Friends For Frosting is now live! This month I’m talking about Polka Dots – big ones and little ones! Polka dots are classic and to keep your look modern and fresh, you have to take a different approach in wearing them. Head to my BFFF post for the tips and tricks. And if you want to see what other trends I’ve covered on Best Friends for Frosting, check out my contributor profile.
As always, thank you for your support and Happy Monday!
Now, this outfit is all about being comfortably chic, because summer is almost here, and it’s too hot to be anything else! Drapey pants (aka Hammer pants) are an easy way to do so. I’ve been seeing them everywhere – plain and printed – so get a pair and try them out.
Happy Friday everyone!
I recently came across a denim pencil skirt in a trouser style while preparing for my Old Navy event. Anything denim and trouser speaks to me, so I just had to try it on. I’ve worn it a bunch of times since then and just love how easily it is dressed up or down. Definitely a summer staple, and a fresh take on the traditional denim skirt.
Did you know that May is National Bike Month? My city of Sacramento embraces biking year round, so this month has been chock full of events in town to commemorate this occasion. A couple of weeks ago, I had the honor of being a model in a fashion show with a bicycle theme: Spoketacular, which was styled by the super talented team at Juniper James and held at the Crocker Art Museum.
I am still on Cloud 9 after my very first style segment on Fox40 news yesterday! If you follow me on social media, you got a sneak peek, but I was talking Men’s summer style and about my event at Old Navy tomorrow with anchor Bethany Crouch. You can check out the video here.
It sure is warming up here in Sacramento, but I still think it’s important to layer in case the weather abruptly changes, or you walk into an air conditioned building. In comes….the denim jacket.
Happy Friday, y’all. I hope you all have a fun weekend ahead!
I’ve been super heavy on the style lately and I hope you’ve enjoyed it, but I wanted to talk beauty in today’s post since there have been some products lately that have really been working wonders in this giraffe’s life.
Here are a few of my spring beauty favorites, and I’m sure they’ll become some of yours too!
Do you ever have trouble mistaking navy blue for black? Yeah, that happened to me. With the band on this hat. HA HA HA! But, what are you going to do once you leave the house? I’ll tell you what: roll with it and strut your stuff down the street! I love this look because it is the quintessential spring outfit: floppy hat, “flowy” skirt and wedges.

Shoes: Chinese Laundry via DSW (sandals) + Peter Pilotto for Target (slip-ons on sale here)
Spring is here! Well, in Sacramento, it’s more like summer! We’ve been having 90 degree days. So that means lots of time outdoors, cool beverages (I’ve been downing a gallon of water a day), and lots of leg showin!
I’ve been wearing dresses and skirts to work, but it’s easy to get caught in a routine. So, on a cooler day, I decided to dress up one of my plain sweatshirts and give it a little oompf! The necklace added some sparkle to a plain canvas. When it starts to cool off again and it’s time to layer up, I’m totally bringing this look back with an oxford underneath.
I’m all about coordination so I knew I had to pair my metallic envelope clutch with my metallic accented sandals. And I remixed the post with a shoe change, which really shows the range of the outfit. It’s great for running errands, it’s great for work. A perfect everyday outfit. 🙂
What’s your favorite thing about spring? Is it the longer days, the activities, or the clothes?
Sacramentans – Hope to see you at the Concerts in the Park 2014 season opener tomorrow! More info is here.

Let me tell you about this dress. See, I spotted this print on a pair of pants and a maxi dress at Target, but I wasn’t sold. While visiting another location, I spotted this number and said “Oooh! I really like this dress!” My boyfriend who was standing next to me said “You like it?” I replied, “Yes,” and I was surprised with a “Well, try it on. I’ll get it for you.” Needless to say, it came home with me and I thought it was perfect for a night out. It made me feel like the ultimate girlie girl with a little edge.
What is your ultra femme outfit that makes you feel edgy?

I’m so excited to tell you about my Old Navy event! I’m still on Cloud 9. 🙂 If you missed my last post, I hosted my first styling event for Old Navy, inside the Sacramento-Natomas location this past Saturday!
The store was crazy busy, well, that’s in large part to the store being 30% off. You would’ve thought it was Black Friday! I was amazed, but it was awesome because that meant people were ready to shop! I was mainly in the fitting room, assisting customers with putting together outfits, accessorizing, and painting the picture of where to wear the look. I put myself through college working retail and I realized I really missed that customer interaction. Not only was it great to meet new people, but I loved adding my twist on outfits that people had picked out. What was most rewarding was how receptive the customers were. And some people even bought the looks that I styled my mannequins with!
Many thanks to my friends who came by to show their support. Below are some snaps that Christie captured of my time at the store.
As you can see, it was a success! I am so blessed for the opportunity to be a “style ambassador” for a brand that makes my affordable fashion dreams come true. SACRAMENTO area, get ready for the next event in MAY! Details will be available here, and on my Facebook and Instagram pages.
