Woo hoo! Happy first day of Spring! The Groundhog said that there would be six more weeks of winter. Well, he must have been talking about my friends on the East Coast and Midwest (sorry y’all), because it’s been spring here in California for the past few weeks. Amen to that!
I don’t know about you, but great weather = lots of time on patios and in the backyard (when I have time, of course). If you add a cocktail in the mix, some may say that it’s the cherry on the pie.
I had the following libations hanging out in our bar and said, “Hey! I’ll make a pretty little drink outta you.” I’m calling it TLG’s Spring Sipper
1 oz. Gin
approx 1.5 oz Moscato
(1) Blood Orange
Ice (crushed or cubed based on preference)
1. Take your rinsed mint leaves and roughly chop them and place them in your glass. If you have a muddler, use that.
2. Add half of your ice and squeeze your blood orange juice into the glass
3. Add 1 oz Gin
4. If you want to be precise, add 1.5 oz of Moscato. I eyeballed it because I was feeling accomplished. For wine, I used Barefoot. Delicious and affordable.
5. Squeeze your lime, give it a stir, add more ice to your liking and enjoy!
