Happy Wednesday! Hope your week is going well. In my last post I mentioned that I went back east for vacation, which was probably old news for those of you who follow me on Instagram. I went to Buffalo at the end of August to visit my relatives. Practically all of my family is from there and they slowly migrated to California starting in the 70’s, but a lot of my cousins and extended family and friends still live there, which is really special. Since I was gone for a week, I decided to plan a little 24-hour adventure for myself, so I booked a room on Airbnb and bought a Megabus ticket from Buffalo to Toronto to satisfy my itch!
Toronto is a beautiful city, but let me tell you, it’s big, and hard to tackle in just a day. If I had to describe it in comparison to other cities, I’d say it’s like New York with a pinch of Seattle. There were two things I had my heart set on doing while there: visiting the CN Tower and going to the Royal Ontario Museum (or ROM) and I was able to do both! The CN Tower is super touristy but it offered a great view of the city. The ROM was HUGE and had so many different classes of art and artifacts, I was in there for about four hours just going from floor to floor, and I STILL wasn’t able to see it all!
Below are some pictures from the visit:

Like I said above, 24 hours was not enough time to really take in Toronto, but I’m so grateful for the time I spent there and will be back! It’s always great to go someplace new and challenge yourself to be comfortable. I wasn’t able to really use my cell phone during the day, and from texts to using maps, it is my lifeline, so I had to use my instincts and I definitely learned a couple of things about myself. If you’re a solo (or couple) traveller and looking for a place to lay your head while in Toronto, check out the place I stayed on Airbnb! It was perfect for my short stint in the city. 🙂
Enjoy your day!
